A suggestion I thought of whilst writing a post earlier. It would be nice to make it possible for one post fusion member to transfer an amount of their post fusion balance to another member. This way it could be used almost like a currency where people could trade their post fusion post counts for advertising, links or other services.

I did something like this with vbbux but changed it from points to

$: 0.00

And did like $0.01 per post and thread and $0.50 per refferal etc.. =]

Hmmmmmmmmm....interesting.

I like the idea, particularly because it would probably encourage non-PF users to actually use PF. Even if they aren't earning credits to use for their own forums, they can use the credits to purchase stuff from other members here at AF who do use PF.

I'll have to chat with Larry about this...in the mean time, feel free to discuss here...If any of you other PF users oppose or support doing this, let us know

I fear that this will have a negative affect on post fusion. At first, people will be posting to bring their balance up, and then start trading them for services as payment.

But then, the richer members who have deeply negative balances could just basically BUY posts from other members, and then those members who made the posts won't get posts on their forum, because they'd be back at zero balance.

The forums that deserve the posts (high balance) won't be getting their posts, and those that don't deserve it (low balance) will climb the list. See, I feel it should be all about the posts to member's boards, not services rendered.

This is why I say it could be tricky. I would rather have AFbux mod that we could start from scratch, and leave PF alone.

Yeah...you know, once upon a time, we considered allowing members to buy PF credits...but we ended up deciding not to for that very reason.

It didn't even occur to me that the same problem could arise indirectly by letting people exchange credits. You're probably right, Dave...allowing this could have a negative effect on the system.
