CBB (formerly newBB) for XOOPS

Hi,

I am using XOOPS v2.0.16 and CBB 3.0.8 and would like to use PostFusion with it (doesn't look like it's supported yet).

XOOPS - http://www.xoops.org
CBB 3.0.8 - http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?newbb

CBB requires the following two packages to be installed:
Frameworks 1.10 - http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/p...?group_id=1357
xoopseditors - http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/p...?group_id=1155

If you need any further info, or have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Sorry Andy, but that is a very specific request...I've never heard of Xoops, CBB, Frameworks, or Xoopseditors.

We love the opportunity to support more software, but we can only do it when there is a big enough demand for it. We can support the common forum software out there, but not software that requires a CMS, 2 packages, and a module to work.

That's fair enough. Although, the forthcoming version of XOOPS should have the Frameworks and editors packages already built in.

That said, do you allow us to convert it ourselves? I can code PHP and may be willing to do it myself if allowed to (and let you have the code to supply).

Providing full support of new software goes beyond a little bit of PHP. There is documentation and packaging here on our end...For you to provide support for XOOPS would mean you looking into our source code, and that is something that we can't reveal

Let us know when XOOPS releases a CMS with forums included, and we'll see what we can do.

I did wonder if it was closed source...

Well, it's not as awkward as it sounds, it's just a case of uploading three folders/directories and activating the forums in the admin. But anyway, would you object if I posted on the XOOPS web site to make them aware of Admin Fusion/PostFusion and encouraged people to hassle you to support it?

If you say no, then I promise to stop hassling you over this

If you can generate enough demand for XOOPS support for PF, then we can probably make something happen. Do note, however, that we're not always able to support any and every software. Sometimes we run into software or databases which are put together in crazy ways that PF just isn't compatible with...This is typically rare though. I think we've only run into that problem once or twice in the past.
