PostFusion v2 Requests

We need some prompt and insightful feedback on PostFusion. We are going to begin work on an almost complete rewrite of the PostFusion system and as such, would like to gather any major feature requests before we get too far into development. It's always easier to add things early than late.

So, if there is ANYTHING you would like to see added to PostFusion, let us know. This is probably your best chance to get your features in development.

That said, we will not produce everything that is suggested here, we will only do so if it is plausible and useful of course. We will also not maintain a list, as we would prefer to keep our official plans confidential.

I have some hard requests which I don't expect them to get added.

1) Different balance weight for replies and new threads
2) Limit forums to certain categories where other members from PostFusion can post for credit.
3) Option to approve/reject any new members posting on your forum from PostFusion.
4) A better way to keep sites from going too far negative or too far positive.

This will more than likely not happen. For various reasons really, but more importantly because it would involve extensive work and put added strain on the server.

I don't exactly follow you on this one...? Are you just suggesting that we categorize the PF forums? If so, yes, that is already in the works.

Another feature we have had on our development list

We do have a limit of -100 set right now...although there is no positive limit. Something we'll consider

For number 2, I meant we could pick which sections of our forum people could post in for credit. If AdminFusion joined PostFusion, the break room forums would not be counted towards the post count or something like that.

For number 4, find a way to make it where it has to stay even, instead of just limiting the number of negatives. I don't really know how to do this, but something that would encourage the higher balanced boards be post to instead of the middle balanced boards. Maybe add something like if you have a balance of -10 or less, and you don't post anything for two days, posting to your forum is disabled. There have been some boards that were really negative, but they came back to post. That's okay, but when someone who seems like they abandoned PostFusion has their site remain on the list, people still post to it and it just makes the active members go really high up.

There's no way we would be able to do this from our side. What you can do on your side, however, is change the settings in your forum so that post count does not increase in certain sections. If the post count is not increasing for members in your forums, it will not be recorded at PostFusion. Basically, the PostFusion balance is determind by the actual post count in each forum. If you do this, you will need to make it clear to your members that this is the case, else we will disable your forums from PostFusion. It would be misleading to PF participants if they are posting in forums which they are not getting credit for because they are not being told so.

Ok, so maybe the solution here is to disable sites from PostFusion if we detect that their posts made does not increase after x amount of days. They may come back and post whenever they want to become re-enabled.

Keep the ideas coming guys
