Forum owners can check what AF members have subscribed to their forums and what name they are using - I guess if someone uses another persons name they can get them unsubscribed.

I don't understand how a PM would help you verify anything when you can just see who has subscribed by looking at the list yourself.

no. I mean send a PM to the user-name to which someone subscribed to on a forum. So that, he/she verifies that he/she is the person who actually subscribed.

Confusing, isn't it? Hope i have explained it well.
