Last time you said no to the whole idea of making new posts worth more because of the server load and the complexity of the pickup script. I was bored and had an hour to kill between classes and began looking at phpBB. I found a way for it to keep track of new threads and replies. You don't have to widely accept this, but can I add it to PostFusion with the 2:1 ratio?

It's a bit ugly right now, but I was just testing. The Test user made 3 posts, 2 are new threads and 1 was a reply. The PostFusion pickup script should show 5 (2*2 + 1).

One pickup can not be different than another. Currently all pickup scripts are verified before being used by our job. If the pickup script can not be verified as authentic it will not be used by our job and stats will not be picked up. That being said if u would like to send your code to us to examine we will look at it and verify its potential use in the system. Unfortunately we can not code the software for one individual site, we have to code in the mind frame of what impact we could have on any and every site we hit.

We appreciate your willingness to help, DZ, but when it all comes down to it, there are only 3 people who know this system inside and out. Well, really only two people - LarryB and awibble - I know what I would consider the basics, which is still more than the members of AF. We will be more than happy to take your suggestions and requests, but because the system is so complex, we would request that you do not open up the code and try to do things for us. The code you are looking at is only the tip of the iceberg. This is not to mention that before you downloaded PostFusion, you agreed to never tamper with the script under any circumstances unless told to do so by AdminFusion.

Now...there is a possibility in the future that we bring more programmers on board, but until that day comes, we ask that you please refrain from modifying the code yourself to test out new features. Anyone found doing otherwise is subject to removal from PostFusion and even AdminFusion, just as the Usage Policy states.

thats a bit harsh, from what ive seen it doesnt look like it would be hard to learn the system in and out, it should be that complicated, and theres the fact that your code could easily be tampered with to produce "fake" stats. but thats just my opinion

Now try it. I tried to set it up so you could switch between normal 1:1 to 2:1 mode, but now I changed it back to the original pickup script. It should pass all verification and report user test having 7 posts, 3*2 + 1.

Well, it doesnt seem to pass the tests correctly :s

I would download the orginal and leave it at that.

If you dont agree with them, then in manyways you should not download and use post fusion, thats the agreement that you make when downloading it.

And, it might look easy to tamper with, but its not as easy as you might think.

The next version, we may fully encode, the reason we didnt with this version was to make the install of ti easier, but now i see how many people are oviosuly looking at the source, it makes me want to encode it again.
