Let me ask you, I may use vB for this as it can be integrated but I'm certain the user base will be from the cms system and not vB's. Will this effect PF's ability to work with vB?

I'm not sure what you are speaking of. If the users are imported in to vbulletin then everything should be fine. Our script queries the vbulletin database tables based up on the relationships and design of the vbulletin tables.

I'm not certain on what tables are used when integrating. Is it the user tables that are used? If so I don't think the cms will use vb's tables but their own user tables for profile purposes.

how would a person login to vbulletin? I don't think I want to know. Off the top of my head I know that we use the user, thread and posts table. The only thing we really care about from the user table is the lookup of the username and using it to match back on userid.
