Lightbulb Undeveloped forums .. shouldn't be allowed

Hello,

I have used the program for some days and I have to say that overall it's a good thing. BUT I do hate seeing some forums with less than 50 posts allowed to be seeded. My question is: WHAT can I do as a "normal" member in the forum when the admin doesn't even bother start some topics? There are a lot of empty forums there. HOW can we manage to keep them pleased and also benefit from this?

I would like to propose some scrutiny in allowing the forums to enter the program. I don't ask new forums to have thousands of posts, since they can't, but THREADS, this is something any admin should work on in the first days. I wouldn't allow forums with less than 100 threads to be entered in the program.

There are some awesome forums there, I am posting in the best ones and it's indeed a blast. Seeing many threads does make it easier. But empty forums are not good for the program since people WON'T join them and some are still very high in the list while other excellent forums are bellow, just because they are more appealing to the program and thus gather members and posts ... Am not talking about sour grapes here since I managed to be the first in the list

I don't want to offend anyone here, but this is a small issue that could discourage people in using the program.

Another nice thing to be implemented would be something like in the Postswap. Poeple with a ballance of bellow 15 posts let's say should have the forums not shown in the main list. This way all would struggle to be up and post in other forums ...

I do kinda agree, When going into some forums there is nothing NEW to talk about... so there for I just close the window... No need to read old posts, Right ?

Than thay complain that no one is posting on there site...

Altho I do like the general direction you are going in

I am not even asking for NEW stuff. There are many good threads a new member doesn't see being updated the next time they log in. When I join a forum I look for good threads, I don't look for new threas, but for good stuff. I reply and get them back to the new posts spot. I have seen some great topics in the forums I am posting in in the program. There are threads that have the last reply 2-3 months ago. That doens't mean they are bad. As long as they are relevant, then I reply ...

But I am talking about EMPTY forums here. No threads, nothing ...

I can understand where you are coming from, but we decided from the get-go that we would not discriminate against any forums...Everybody is welcome to use PostFusion. If you see a forum in there that you can't post at because there's not enough threads, why not just close that window and look at another forum? I doubt many, if any, PostFusion members will post on an empty forum - and the owners of those forums will surely get the clue eventually. Setting a limit of 100 threads is a pretty big deal. If PostFusion is meant to help out a certain type of forum most, it's definitely new forums...Granted, I do agree that the owner of these forums should, at the least, make an attempt to invite conversation by creating new threads.

Also, the limit of 15 posts that you are suggesting...is already there, but we have it at -25 posts. Whenever a forum reaches -25 posts, it is removed from the list until it comes back over that cut-off point.

Though I currently do not list any brand new forum of mine, I think PF should allow almost brand new forums to be listed. One of the toughest stages of forum development is the start-up stage, and I don't know about you, but this is when I need other people's help the most to me. So, if PF disallows (almost) brand new forums to be listed, I feel like it defeats the purpose of post exchange.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this.
