Could not connect to pickup script

FueltheScene.com

Could not connect to the specified pickup script. Please validate the url entered and that it is installed correctly!

When you actually go to the pf_pickup.php file it says this:

"Mk1CazZxOUE2cFBJek80QWNqeGtIZXp0NlV6SW5NOUE2cExJe k9Ga1BPS2t6cDkvNnAwSVZVZkluaDlBNnB6VTZ0eHhIcWcvSFQ 0ZnpyeDRQakY0UGVjQ1B0WC9nVGNrZ2pFQXpzemxRam0y"

Instead of "Install was OK".

My forums are integrated into my main page with SMF/Tiny Portal.

If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

The pf files that are installed, did YOU download them and upload them yourself? Also did you download zip or gzip version?

Yeah I downloaded and uploaded them using CuteFTP.

And I have tried both. I tried the regular zip first, then I tried gzip. Both gave me the same errors, just now the GZip says

"Y09mYjhFWHo4bFp2eUxRekd1cmJqMXk1OHd5dmtPWHo4bEJ2e Ux4YlpMVWJ5bFhZOGxwdm93MnZrc1h6OGx5dzg1cnJqRTlZajZ RMnlxclFadXhRWjFHNFo1ZFk5NkdiOXVpenlUeWU3dVJj"

Instead of the message the Zip one said earlier.

The data you are getting back is probably correct. It is an encrypted value. I didn't see your response earlier, for that I apologize. I will have a look at this as soon as I can.

I just tested this. I'm not seeing any issues at all. Can you please try again and let me know.

I too am getting the "Could not connect to the specified pickup script."

I'm using SMF 1.1.2 and when browsing to http://www.mygame-forum.com/pf_pickup.php I see the encrypted code.

Thanks in advance for helping me.

EDIT: Well, I downloaded the GZip version and tried again - this time it worked. Now I'm just waiting for admin approval. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular member of this forum.

I also had this problem with IPB 2.x

I was downloading the .zip file and uploading it to my forum. I tried again with the .gzip file and was able to get in.

I noticed that in the .gzip file pf_config.php is a larger file as the private key is filled in - where as in the zip file the private key is blank... I'm assuming that leads to this problem ?

Quite possibly. I'll have a look as soon as I get a chance.
