Try uploading the files just as you got them from here at AF. If they don't work, let us know.

Some hosts do not allow ini set changes which is exactly what you have in your file. I am shocked I am the first one to complain about it as it's common. http://www.webmasterforums.biz/pf_pickup.php There ya go...take a peek. The site was not activating.. So now what? And no...I am not shutting off safe mode for your encrypted code which lord knows what it does....it's BS you have it encrypted..for all anyone knows you are stealing sql information. Bad move on your part imho.

Turning safe_mode off is almost standard practice for most involved scripts out there today. If you don't want to do that, that's understandable, but you simply will not be able to use PF. I can assure you that the script is 100% safe, and we are not compromising your server or database in any way. If you still don't trust us, that's fine, but again, you won't be able to use PF PF has had 975 forums and 75,000+ posts go through it...Surely it wouldn't go through those numbers for 2 years if it did harm

It updates the in memory value of that setting, which will then be reverted back. Hosts that do not allow you to change that setting will simply not work with the script. One suggestion I could make to you would be to see if you can make changes to your php config with .htaccess files. If you can, look up how to turn off error display or to change the level of error display you use. By doing so the script "should work", but could run in to possible time out issues depending on the amount of members that join your forums.

| Title: Groupie Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 39 Location: Las Vegas ![]() | Oh I am willing to give it a chance...I know you guys from other forums and while I was just a lurker I am well aware of you. Other people might not feel the same though. As for turning safe-mode off...that's ancient...your code is ancient too if it relies on safe mode being off. I have it on with ALL my sites and no script problems that I can't fix. PHP: set_time_limit - Manual This script could be easily used for DDOS attack on ANY site using it. MAX_EXECUTION_TIME is default 30 seconds on most servers...if your script is taking longer than that it would be removed anyways. I can't have people waiting forever for your script to load as you suggest. This is suppose to be a professional admin site. You might want to consider making adjustments for current code standards. 2 years old is ancient in script coding time. Standards change and you should along with it. Quote:
If you are unwilling to make changes then just say so. Don't make up stories because I am far from a novice and I understand the repercussions of changing safe_mode to off. You could also turn off error reporting on the script itself.
