In hopes to improve the notification process of non-functioning PostFusion sites, we have added a constantly updated status check to each site. If you will take a look at both the All Sites and Subscribed Sites pages, you will notice a new line underneath the owner that will look something like this:

As each balance is updated, the script also checks for validity of the pickup file on each remote forum. If the file validates, the time is reset to 0 seconds. If the file does not validate, the time remains. Before subscribing to any sites or posting on any current subscriptions, we recommend that you make sure that the site was validated recently. If the last validation was hours or days ago, it is probably best not to post at that site until it is fixed.

The next step for this will be notifications to the owners. If a site is down for an extended period of time, the owner will be notified via PM. If the site is down for a continuous 96 hours, it will be removed from the system.

Hopefully this will combat many of the problems we have with non-functioning sites

Now, when forums go down for 24 hours straight, the owner is notified via PM. He/she will be notified again at 48 and 72 hours. After 96 hours (4 days), the forums will be automatically disabled and the owner will be notified of this as well. The owner will always have the option to reinstall or fix PostFusion and then contact us in private when this has been done. We will simply re-enable your forums and you'll be back in business in no time!

All in all, this means great things for the reliability of the system...no longer do we need to manually check the forums ourselves, and now the owner of each forum will be notified if it goes down - hey, that in and of itself is almost like a free uptime report
