Potential problems aside I do like the whole knockout idea, should be interesting to watch.

Are you proposing people get their forum members to vote? I can't say I like that idea. It's just a "who's got the most members" contest. Plus all those new non forum owner members are useless to this site.

I was hoping it was just fellow forum owners voting which might actually add some meaning to winning.

I'm not proposing this idea at all. I'm just saying it's bound to happen... Again you guys are thinking there are going to be nothing but David and Goliath battles and that is totally not what we are going to intentionally do. We are going for matches like Dale Jr. vs Gordon, Hulk Hogan vs. Macho Man Randy Savage, Rosie O'Donnell vs. Donald Trump....

Eventually if this works out we might even create a boardbrawl league then separate the boards into weight classes (member base) or something. But this is a trial, were seeing how things work with this.

Fun, but meaningless. I don't think anyone could take pride in winning because it had nothing to do with the quality of the forum.

Fun is good but I'm not really arsed if my forum wins or not (except for the free cash!). If it was based on peer review I might actually care :/

I agree with Caddy. Having a bunch of people sign up and vote then leave isn't doing much. I'd rather restrict voting to those with 50+ posts honestly and make it about people who have invested some interest in AF having the say in the winner.

I agree with Caddy as well. Either way though, very interesting idea and looks so far like it will be successful.
