The only problem with #2 is that it rewards people who post more, and those with low post counts get pretty much left out of the loop, and never get a chance to catch up.

That's not really true...Way back in the past when we did this, we had forums making the top 10 with owners having post counts under 50. It happened all the time. You did not need hundreds of posts to have your forums make the top 10. Sure, you might need to have been here at AF for a month or so, but I don't think that's too painful

My question to those of you who are against choosing the forums with the highest post count at AF - What are your alternatives of choosing 10-15 forums to review when 100 are submitted?

I think their should be high qualifications and requirements since AF is quite large, not every tom dick and harry should be allowed to get in the competition.

Need custom theme, logo, XXX amount of content and members, etc.
