This tutorial will teach you how to install a 2.1.7 Invision Power Board
Once you have downloaded the zipped file, extract it to any folder on your computer. You will be presented with 3 folders and a readme html file. The main folder that we are concerned about is the upload folder. It contains every file needed in your installation.

Use your favourite FTP client, and log into your site. Make a new folder in the public_html or www folder called forums OR main directory. Upload every file in the upload folder on your computer into the forums directory on your site.

Once this is done, you will need to CHMOD a few files and folders. These include:

cache: 777
style_images: 777
uploads: 777
conf_global.php: 777
cache/lang_cache: 777
cache/skin_cache: 777

you may need to rename conf_global.php file is called conf_global.php.dist, rename it to just conf_global.php

Then login to your control panel

Then go to MySQL , and create a MySQL database

Then put http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/index.php in your browser , But if you put the forum files in the website directory take out /forums . Then it will come to the installer script, then put your MySQL database details in and your account information and email.

If you have followed this propley you should have successfully installed Invision Power Board. If you need help installing private message me.
