I'd like to congratulate Larry, RM and Ryan for their fantastic work on the new PM ranking system.

It works a lot better than the old system because before it was quite hard to get your forum up to the top of list, whereas with this more dynamic list it's quite easy to move up.

I've received way more posts in the last couple of days than I had in a month with the old system and I'm encouraged to post in way more forums than I usually would.

Yeah, what we've managed to do is make it easy to get to the top spot but hard to maintain it...whereas before it was hard to get to the top spot but easy to maintain it. I thought that was kind of backwards, because somebody could work their way to the top and then just sit there while others could not take the spot. Now, as you have seen, the top spot is always up for grabs. Once you hit the top, you start moving slower than before and the people under you start moving quicker, so it's harder for you to create that "gap" in between you and others below you.



The gameplan from this point on is:

- Continue to watch posting trends and balances and adjust the formula so that it works "best"

- Once we are confident in the formula, we will start advertising/promotion PF outside of AF. We have done very little of that in the past. Now, with a new system, we should be able to bring a lot of new people in.

I've not had the chance to try PostFusion, however, a close friend of mine is working on a new project so maybe I'll get to see it in action here in the next week if all goes well.

He is using an idea I've had for a while and never had the time to really fully develop. I can't wait to see how it turns out and what the results are for the project .

Jonathan hasn't been able to try out PF, but he plans to through one of his friend's up and coming forum...from what I understand.

That would be correct, Ryan (though not just a forum, rather, a combination service & community).

The project targets community owners, however, it is not a post-exchange project, otherwise I wouldn't be looking forward to seeing how PF works .

Ah, worry not Ryan . While the project targets community owners, it does not provide a post exchange system nor direct community discussion such as what is offered here at AdminFusion.

Depending on which direction the project is taken, the community may only be for feature discussion, announcements and additions to the project. The direction we take it depends on what features we can roll out with on launch

I will say it is does more so target the service providers for online communities .
