No posts yet..

What's the estimated time it will take to get posts in your own forum?

I joined PF on Tuesday or was it Monday? No clue

Anyway I have posted and not received any posts back. I know it won't be instant but I am just wondering. I didn't see this question in the FAQ too so I would be grateful if one of the staff here could answer it.

Thank you

There is no estimated time. It all depends on the type of forum, setup of it and availability of topics to discuss.

I see.

Well I must say it's a very good system you got up and running. I am sure our community will benefit from it greatly

Thank you

Yes, it is a very neat system! I'm glad I found this forum! Major thumbs up...and I've discovered that you need to make quite a few posts in order to get enough points to make it to the top of the list. Then you're more visible to other members and have a better chance of getting posts. It's sort of a competition with the ones you boot out of first place. They want that spot back, so they'll join your forum to get more points for them and less points for you!

If you can get up to the top of the list and hover there for a little while, you should begin to see posts rolling in...If you stay down near the bottom, you probably will not.

But remember, the topic and activity of your forum also matters. If your forums are on an obscure topic that nobody knows anything about, you are not likely to receive as many posts...On a similar note, if your forums have 0 activity, there is nothing for the PF users to go discuss/reply to...So you need to make sure that there is some activity there other than just PF activity. PF is a supplement, not your only source

Great points! I just checked out your forum, Matt! A whole site dedicated to a specific type of car? And you only have 3 members with a total of 21 posts. You definitely need to do more posting yourself and quite possibly might need to create "fake" usernames to have conversations with. There isn't anything there to get PF members to your site. Maybe you should expand it a bit and put more forums in for other things like games and maybe an "other cars" section?

good advice. A forum owner should fill their site up with content for others to post about. Also adding forums like Judesplace mentioned is important. if you are to specialized, like Ryan mentioned, it is VERY hard for anyone to fabricate posts about things they just dont know about. so open up your forums some, create a general area, and people will find the sections they have something to post about.
